Our Story

Founder, Jessica Kalinski, has always expressed an enthusiasm for life and a never settle attitude. From a young age she demonstrated a strong work ethic, good leadership and a remarkable drive. Her sense of adventure and passion for people eventually lead her to a career in the hospitality industry, as a Train Attendant for VIA Rail Canada. 

It wasn’t until she lost her job in 2020, that Jessica pursued her lifelong dream of owning real estate, and fearlessly acquired her first two properties within four months. With little to no renovation experience, she began restoring a 100 year old triplex that had been neglected for decades. Shortly after becoming a landlord, Jessica strategically gained employment within the property management industry and has extensive experience with both short term and long term rentals. 

Her time as a Leasing Agent for a rapidly expanding multifamily development company allowed her to gain unique experiences and valuable knowledge. She often found herself working independently on construction sites or within large apartment buildings featuring 140-280 units. Her responsibilities were diverse, from tenant screening and rental agreements, to reading floor plans and communicating with trades.

Prioritizing her goals and values, Jessica joined forces with a local real estate investor and dove into the world of short term rentals. From furnishing and set up, professional photos and listing creation, to guest communication and property turnovers, together they managed every aspect of the STR hosting process. Jessica has since converted a portion of her portfolio into furnished rentals, proudly hosting immigrants, patients, health care professionals and students seeking the comforts of home on a budget.

Today, she combines her passion for STRs and experience in multifamily properties to bring strong returns to our investors. Alverstone Real Estate Inc. invests in multifamily assets while offering STRs to increase cashflow but still bring the stability of a multifamily investment.
